Above - Deck in ridged Scandinavian redwood with post and wire instead of balustrade BUILDING GARDEN DECKS We have also built some interesting decks in more wild areas such as paddocks and orchards where the use of wood rather than stone provides a more organic, less formal seating area. Wooden decks look great next to a water feature. We mostly use either the traditional grooved Scandinavian Redwood timber or the more contemporary smooth Southern Yellow Pine boards. We have also used cedar to create a very modern style of garden. Above - Smooth decking
